RACIAL MINORITIES ARE OVER-REPRESENTED IN SALT LAKE COUNTY HOMELESS SYSTEM. The disparities are largest among African Americans, who make up 12.6% of those receiving homeless services but only 2.2% of the county’s total population. That means there are 5.7 times more Black people in the homeless system than would be expected based on demographic data alone.
